At our center for spacecraft development in Redondo Beach, California you will perform mechanical design of ground support equipment for use on spacecraft integration and test programs. In this level 4 Engineer position you'll lead: design activity from initial requirements definition; conceptual, preliminary/layout, and detail design; structural analysis;design review presentations;and support to fabrication. Typical designs wil include slings, lift fixtures, and metallic (aluminum & steel) structures and weldments. Additional responsibilities may include leading a small team, interfacing with customer, technical support, proposal technical inputs, cost estimating, and directing junior engineers.

Basic Qualifications:BS in Engineering or equivalent, at least 9 years experience in mechanical engineering design with ; 5 years CATIA V5 or 3D CAD experience, and GD&T application. A current SSBI is required to satisfy security clearance requirements in this assignment.

Preferred Experience:9+ years in design of MGSE. Experience related to spacecraft flight hardware, strong structural analysis skills.
